Moderation and corrections

Hapito's moderation policy is versioned and published in English first; another language can be enabled only after its trust copy passes human review. Decisions carry reasons, and favorable and unfavorable material are treated identically.

Principles

  • Supported criticism is not removed because it is negative, because a paying organization requests it, or because it is disputed without contrary evidence.
  • There is no pay-to-remove, no pay-to-reply, and no reputation-management service. A commercial relationship never changes what the evidence shows.
  • When Hapito has transcribed an official source incorrectly, Hapito fixes its transcription without waiting for the upstream register to change.
  • After any accepted correction or withdrawal, every aggregate and summary that depended on the changed value recomputes.

The eight correction routes

Every report-issue control leads to one of eight routes. The reporter identifies the exact claim and chooses a route; no step of the process publishes an accusation.

  • The report is about the wrong building, or the address identity is wrong.
  • Hapito transcribed or normalized an official source incorrectly.
  • The official data is stale or has changed at the source.
  • A resident-evidence eligibility, duplication, or privacy concern.
  • An organization adds context or exercises its right of reply.
  • Content that is unlawful, threatening, discriminatory, doxxing, fabricated, or posted under an undisclosed conflict of interest.
  • A contributor withdraws future public use of a submission.
  • An appeal of a decision Hapito made.

How cases are handled

Every report receives a stable case id that can be referred back to, with target response times by priority. Imminent safety or privacy risk is triaged ahead of ordinary factual disagreement and can temporarily restrict public display while it is assessed.

Contributors are notified when their content is materially restricted or removed, without exposing who challenged it, unless safety or law prevents notice.

Right of reply

A verified organization can file a concise reply tied to the specific claim it answers. A reply is always labelled as the organization's statement. It cannot edit resident evidence, identify contributors, advertise, or introduce unrelated allegations.

Reply intake is open. Filed replies are stored but not yet published, because organization verification is not yet available.

When the source itself is wrong

If an official register holds a wrong value, correcting the register is the register's own process, and Hapito names that process separately from its own correction. Hapito's correction fixes what Hapito publishes; it cannot change the register.

Safety

Hapito is not an emergency reporting channel. If a building condition poses imminent danger, contact the emergency services or the competent authority first. A report on Hapito is evidence of an observation, never a substitute for statutory notification.

Hapito does not decide civil or criminal liability. Private case evidence and the identity of contributors and challengers are never published.
